Toussaint L'Ouverture (jan 1, 1791 – jan 1, 1803)
Toussaint L'Ouverture led the Haitians through the Haitian Revolution in Saint Domingue's fight for independence from France, struggling with the French Revolution. He had an effective and disciplined military, allowing him to be successful and abolish slavery in Saint Domingue.
