Casablanca Conference (jan 14, 1943 – jan 24, 1943)

Description:

This conference was called to finalize Allied strategy against the Axis powers. It took place just 2 months after Allied landings in North Africa. they decided to start concentrating forces in England in preparation for a landing in France and invade Italy to knock them out of the war. They also decided to increase supply shipments to the USSR and China as well as to kick the Japanese out of Papua New Guinea. This conference was also what set the policy of unconditional surrender to avoid another movement such as Nazism growing in defeated countries.
