Passive resistance in the Ruhr (jan 11, 1923 – sep 26, 1923)

Description:

To stop french goals, the workers were told to passively resist the soldiers - they were not to do any work for anyone, in an effort for the french to give up and leave.

To pay for this. the Weimar government had to print more money to pay the soldiers. Combined with the printing of money to pay for the war by the Kaiser, the currency started to lose value, and began the hyperinflation in Germany.
