Detroit Newspapers Strike (jul 13, 1995 – feb 19, 1997)
Description:
Those involved went on strike over management's attempt to create a merit-based raise system and limit overtime.
A coalition of unions, representing journalists, printers, truck drivers, maintenance workers, and other laborers, were who actually went on strike, refusing to work.
The newspapers hired replacement workers, and the union called off the strike.
