Columbus´ voyages to the Americas (aug 1, 1492 – jan 1, 1502)
Description:
During the time between August 1492 and 1502 Columbus sailed to "the Americas" four times. He mostly explored islands off the continental coast; including the isles known as Trinidad, the Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti and Puerto Rico today.
His original goal was to discover a sea passage to the West Indies and bring back some of their much famed gold and produce. While unsuccessful in this endeavour, he brought back Natives and samples of flora and fauna.
Columbus likely transported Africans to the Americas on his voyages originating in West-central Africa
