Nullification Crisis (jan 1, 1832 – jan 1, 1860)
Description:
The government put a tariff on the states, the south didn’t like it so South Carolina nullified the tariff and threatened to leave the union, in response Andrew Jackson sent troops to make South Carolina stop. The south felt like the tariff was directly targeted at them so their hate for the national government continued to grow.Added to timeline:
