Description:
Teresa was educated by Augustinian nuns and was known for her wit and charm. At the age of 20, she entered a Carmelite monastery. While she was there, she began having visions of Jesus and started to write them down. Because of these events, Teresa founded her own convent known as the Discalced Carmelites.Added to timeline:
