Description:
Cause (International): Main trigger for and first event of this war was Marco Polo Bridge incident in which Japanese blamed Chinese for attack in Wanping resulting in more skirmishes between both sides.
Effect (International): US commenced Hiroshima and Nagasaki on Japanese, USSR invaded North Japan and suppressed forces in Manchuria, Japanese forces in China forced to surrender to GMD.
Cause (Domestic): When given decision to declare war on China or prepare for possible USSr threat, Prime Minister Konoe ultimately declared war on China.
Effect (Domestic): Japanese loss of Second Sino-Japanese War, damaged Japan's military and economy.
