Articles of Confederation (nov 14, 1777 – sep 17, 1787)
Description:
This was the first form of government adopted by the new United States of America. It was mostly ineffectual as it had not strength in the central government and states were allowed to do as they pleased. It would eventually give way to the creation of the Constitution which had a stronger central government and the ability to form a central currency and regulate commerce.Added to timeline:
