Similar in ways to the Korean war such as it being an attempt to stop a domino effect of communism, there were many great differences including the length and cost both financially and in life. The greatest difference however was on the homefront for the United States. The Vietnam War was a divisive event for the American people with those on each side holding firm convictions with no compromise.Added to timeline:
