Invention of the steamboat: 1803 (jan 1, 1803 – jan 1, 1803)

Description:

Invented by James Watt, the steamboat was the improved version of the steam engine that helped in the Industrial Revolution and inspired other inventors to explore how steam technology could be used to propel ships. The steamboat allowed citizens to travel upriver. The greater speeds the steamboat provides allowed more effective transportation of perishable goods and could travel in conditions that other ships could not travel through.
