Rhenish Insurrection (oct 21, 1923 – nov 26, 1923)
Description:
On October 21, 1923 a group of Rhineland separatists unhappy with the recent occupation of the Ruhr led by Leo Deckers occupied parts of the city of Aachen and declared the Rhenish Republic. Separatist groups quickly took control of the countryside and various other population centers.
The insurrection was put down after a crackdown by the occupation forces and the arrests of various leaders.
