Second Phase: Nestorianism (jan 1, 381 – jan 1, 433)
Description:
This phase was brought on by the teachings of Diadre that emphasized the real humanity of Christ. The major issue became the use of the term "Theotokos" to speak of Mary. Nestorius wanted to maintain divine impassibility and so he insisted on differentiating the divine and human in Jesus.
