Diocletian Persecution (jan 1, 303 – jan 1, 311)
Description:
During this time, all church buildings in the empire were destroyed and all Christian books/texts were burned. There were so many people that were arrested that Rome had to commute the death sentence to hard labor in the mines for those who refused to sacrifice to the gods. This period eventually became known as The Great Persecution.
