Ilkhanate (jan 1, 1256 – jan 1, 1335)
Description:
The Ilkhanate was a part of the Mongol Empire located in the middle east that split from the Mongols after the empire's disintegration. It was established after the Mongolian sack of Baghdad and the conquering of the Abbasid Caliphate that ended the Golden Age of Islam. However, its leaders eventually assimilated into Persian culture and many converted to Islam anyways.
