Yuan Dynasty (jan 1, 1271 – jan 20, 1368)
Description:
The Yuan Dynasty, founded by Genghis Kahn, is highly influential in todays society. It may have not lasted for hundreds of years but they are responsible for many feats and inventions still in use today. Like paper money, the extension of the grand canal and many others.
As well as being a cornerstone of technology and economics they also had the reputation of a unbeatable force. No army could beat this force. But ironically, their peasants did.
A "peasants uprising" in 1351 slowly brought down the mighty force. The reasons for the attacks were to to the governments lack of support when it came to natural disasters and the common people were fed up. The Yuan dynasty was finally destroyed and replaced in 1368 by a new dynasty: The Ming dynasty.
