The Ottoman Empire. (jan 1, 1299 – jan 1, 1683)
Description:
The Ottoman empire, well known for their advancements in art, science and medicine, began in the late 13th century with many raids from Turkic warriors lead by Osman, a prince from a local power base in Sogut. A nearby town in Turkey.
From here he took hold of the nation and turned it into not only the centre of the art world at the time but also a military powerhouse. The Ottoman empire put an end to the 1000 year reign of Byzantine empire after storming it's capitol, Constantinople and prevailed in many other battles in their near 400 year dominance of south-eastern Europe.
