Mongol Empire (jan 1, 1206 – jan 1, 1368)
Description:
Before the largest empire was founded, the Mongol people where often found drifting across the Mongolian plains, waging war against each other in small tribes on the sole basis of obtaining cattle, goats and other goods.
This all changed in 1206 when a young man named Genghis Kahn rose to power by making strategic alliances with other tribes and then eventually the whole nation.
One of many reasons he was so popular was due to his way of distributing merit not by wealth. but by skill and courage.
His empire flourished under his reign and grew to be the largest empire the world has ever seen. After his death in 1227 the empire divided into four separate provinces as each of his relatives desperately struggled for power. Because of the weekend state the empire was in because of this the Mongol empire was eventually regained by various tribes and civilisations but left a lasting legacy of warfare and culture for century's to come.
