First Schleswig War (mar 24, 1848 – may 8, 1851)
Description:
The First Schleswig war consisted of a rebellion of ethnic Germans in the Danish controlled Duchy of Schleswig that was supported by most of the German States. While the Danes were successful in defeating the Germans, their success in this war would lead to an overconfidence that would eventually lead to Denmark formally annexing the Duchy of Schleswig, which led to a much less successful war for them.
