Description:
Chiang intended to surround and destroy the Communists. However the first two failed and the communists escaped. Chiang lost support of the peasants, as troops burnt down buildings and massacring them. The Nationalists established a blockade around the soviet and deprived the inhabitants of food. Scorched earth policy ensured the reds had to fight a static war. The Reds were forced to abandon the Jiangxi Soviet.Added to timeline:
