4th Anglo-Mysore War (apr 17, 1799 – may 4, 1799)
Description:
- Tipu wanted to take revenge of humiliating treaty of Seringapatam.- The British were afraid of the closeness of Tipu Sultan with the French and wanted to either annihilate the independence of Tipu in Mysore or force him for Subsidiary Alliance
- Tipu was defeated by General Stuart and then by General Harris
- This battle was conclusive and led to fall of Seringapatam and defeat of Tipu Sultan(Marathas and Nizam's again helped British)
