Outcome - Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle (1748)
-Maria Theresa was recognized as ruler of Austria, but had to cede Silesia to Prussia - a bitter loss.
- Most other conquered territories were returned to their pre-war owners.
- The war settled little definitively, and tensions remained high, leading to the Seven Years' War (1756–1763).
