Description:
David Wilmot prososed the Wilmot proviso, which allocated money to a treaty with mexico and an amendment that said no slavery in taken over Mexican land. The alocation of funds twards a treaty with Mexico passed but the amendment did not.David Wilmot was an American politician and judge. He served as Representative and a Senator for Pennsylvania and as a Judge of the Court of Claims.
