Description:

This policy promotes unity (cohesion) between the indigenous and non-indigenous communities within Australia.

It aims to reconcile (resolve) the differences between these two communities and recognise past indiscretions and failures. This is an ongoing process and reconciliation will only be truly achieved when there is equity and cohesion amongst these two communities.

However, substantial progress has been made in recent years.
