Description:
The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed in 1848 and ended the Mexican-American War in favor of the United States. The treaty added 525,000 squares miles to the United States. This includes the areas of present day California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Nevada. (Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, 2009)
