The Sixth Console Generation (jan 31, 1998 – jan 14, 2013)

Description:

The PS2, Sega Dream Cast, Xbox and the Nintendo GameCube all came out in this generation and they came with online gaming, surround sound capabilities, 128 bit systems and we also moved from SCART to VGA, this is important becasue they allowed new ways of connection to a TV that allowed for higher output quality and they introduced online game-play which kick-started the online and competitive communities.
