The Fourth Console Generation (apr 21, 1987 – oct 29, 2004)

Description:

This held the Sega Mega Drive, SNES, Phillips CDI and the Gameboy which were 16-bit machines, up to 8 buttons for input, over 65000 colours that can have 4096 displayed on screen and CD ROM support and stereo sounds were finally introduced. This started teh CD ROM support which is still used today.
