The Third Console Generation (jan 26, 1983 – jan 3, 2003)
Description:
The third generation contains the Sega Master System, NES, Atari 7800 and the Commodore 64. These introduced D-Pad controllers which we still use, advanced hardware and title scrolling, 25-32 colours, 5 audio channels and up to 100 sprites on screen at any given time. These are important because it introduced the idea of stereo systems and we still use D-Pads on controllers today.
