Education: A graduate of Lincoln High School, Lyle received his undergraduate degree in from Barrington College. He earned his Master’s degree in education from Providence College and his Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University School of Law.

Occupation: Lyle is a retired educator. He spent 24 years as a classroom teacher and as an administrator at Lincoln High School. He then served for six years as the principal at Central Falls High School, followed by two years as the Block Island Superintendent of Schools. An attorney, Lyle serves as Of-counsel for the Providence law firm of LaPlante, Sowa and Goldman, concentrating his practice in the areas of education and labor law. He is also certified by the Rhode Island Mediation Center and has been an arbitrator through the National Center for Dispute Settlement.

Other Offices: He was previously elected to serve in the Rhode Island Senate from 1980 to 1986, and then again in 1990 through 1994.

Affiliations: He is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, the Rhode Island American Federation of Teacher Retirees and the Rhode Island Retired Principals’ Association. He currently lends his expertise as a member of the Rhode Island PBS Board of Directors.
