-Expanded Broca's research on motor aphasia/localization of brain areas
-Discovered "sensory aphasia" in patients who could speak articulately, but completely nonsensically, not truly comprehending the language of others
-Also caused by damage in an area of the left frontal lobe, now called "Wernicke's Area"
