Description:
Massacre of Vassy: Guises refused to obey Edict of St. Germain and killed many Huguenots in worship.
Massacre of St. Bartholomew's Day: Duke Henry of Guise invited Huguenots to his wedding in Paris. After deceptive reconciliation, roughly 2,000 Huguenots were massacred.
Other Massacres: Henry commanded the same be done throughout France. Tens of thousands of Huguenots were killed.
