The Siege of Boston (apr 1, 1775 – mar 17, 1776)
Description:
(Term 1 Event) This was a great stepping stone for the colonists in the revolutionary war. They were able to trap the British troops in Boston and Charleston by blocking the Boston neck and the Charleston neck.
1. A major step towards freedom from Great Britain for the colonists. It is likely that the United States would still be a part of England if it weren't for these events.
2. The successes of conflicts like the Battle of Bunker Hill that occurred during this time inspired the colonists and gave them hope for a victory.
3. The deaths that the colonists suffered (including Joseph Warren) served as a way of further uniting the colonists against their common enemy.
