Dormant Generation (Gen 6) (nov 30, 2021 – feb 12, 2022)

Description:

Gen 6 began when Minecraft updated to 1.18. As a result, players were getting bored of the main server because it was still on 1.17.1 and playing on the queue server. During this time period, increased activity from ercercerc meant that new builds to queue like Fishy Frank's and Ace Island were built. Fishy Frank's allowed players to gamble their fish with the ability to potentially make profit. It became the first official casino in queue.
Despite being a quieter time due to the fewer amount of players on queue, events like the string dupe and the diamond pickaxe in the Queue Server Shop kept the community alive. The string dupe was a glitch that allowed players to obtain an infinite amount of string as long as the player had 2 tripwire hooks, at least 3 string, and a source of water. This dupe had the potential to crash the string market but was patched by Boone. However, while Boone was patching the dupe, players were not allowed to build or break blocks on their plot during this time. This caused a small shortage in charcoal and other farmable items. Eventually, players would be able to build on their plots again with the exception of the ability to place string or tripwire hooks.
A diamond pickaxe was also sold in the weekly section of the Queue Server Shop for 1000 queue dollars. This became the first time a diamond item was publicly sold. Carrots would be sold shortly after for 500 queue dollars. However, the weekly shop would not be the only place where players could spend big. Players would also be given opportunities to spend money to win at Fishy Frank's, then at Frank's Casino which would open on January 15, 2022, letting players gamble to potentially win big. Spending opportunities would continue to expand as the Dormant Generation moved into the Queue Friends Generation.
On December 27, 2021, Queue Friends was created as a queue community discord designed to be less toxic and more free than MB. Over time, it would gradually increase in size and would begin on their first building project, the 100k Wall. This wall would highlight every player that had fished at least 100k fish throughout their time on queue. This build would eventually be added with contributions from many members of the community who would become the staple of the next generation, putting a close to the Dormant Generation.
