Description:
Causes: The Sinking of the Maine, Newspapers twisted the sinking of the Maine to create more revenue.Public Opinion: The public got enraged at the Spanish for "sinking the Maine"
Events: The battle of San Juan hill made Theodore Roosevelt, Treaty of Paris gave Cuba a protectorate. The Teller Resolution made it so the U.S. can't annex Cuba into the U.S.
Outcome: The Platt Amendment stated that the U.S. soldiers had to withdrawl out of Cuba but could still intervene as it is Cuba's protectorate.
