Philip I (Philip the Good) (jan 1, 1433 – jun 15, 1467)
Description:
Philip I is known for geographic expansion by incorporating Namur, Hainault, Holland, Friesland, and Zeeland under him. He was also a considerable patron of the arts. Philip I commissioned many manuscripts and patronized many different arts including tapestries, goldsmiths, jewelry, and fountains. Philip also greatly increased the economy by building a shipyard.
