Dandi March (mar 12, 1930 – apr 6, 1930)

Description:

- Led by Mahatma Gandhi, the 24-day nonviolent protest was organized against the British salt monopoly. Gandhi and 78 followers walked approximately 385 kilometers (240 miles) from the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad to the coastal village of Dandi, where Gandhi officially broke the salt laws by making salt from seawater.
