Dandi March (mar 12, 1930 – apr 6, 1930)

Description:

- Led by Mahatma Gandhi, the 24-day nonviolent protest was organized against the British salt monopoly. Gandhi and 78 followers walked approximately 385 kilometers (240 miles) from the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad to the coastal village of Dandi, where Gandhi officially broke the salt laws by making salt from seawater.

- In Tamil Nadu, C. Rajagopalachari led a march from Trichinapoly to Vedaranniyam
- In Malabar, K. Kelappan(famous for Vaikom Satyagraha) led a march. Also supported by P Krishna Pillai
- Andhra Pradesh - Sibirams i.e Military style camps setup
- Orissa - Under Gopalbandhu Chaudhari
- Assam - Against Cunningham Circular banning student's participation in politics, led by Chandraprabha Saikiani
- Bengal - Subhash Bose and JM Sengupta
- Bihar - Rajendra Prasad involved, Bonga and Somra Manjhi
- Peshawar - Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan or Badhshah Khan or Frontier Gandhi --> Khudai Khidmatgars or Red-Shirt
- Dharasana - Sorojini Naidu and Manilal Gandhi
- Manipur and Nagaland - Rani Gaidinliu

- Mass participation of women, students, some sections of Muslims, petty traders, workers and peasants
