Description:
- With the passage of the Boycott Resolution formal Swadeshi movement started
- Led by Extremists like Tilak, Lala Latpat Rai, Bipin Chandra Pal, Aurobindo Gosh
- boycott of foreign goods like Manchester cloth and Liverpool salt, use of fairs, festivals, and melas for propaganda, corps of volunteers or 'Samitis'
- emphasis on self-reliance
- launching national or swadeshi education --> Bengal National College inspired by Tagore's Shantiniketan
- establishment of the National Council of Education
- Swadeshi enterprises --> Chidambaram Pillai's Swadeshi Steam Navigation Company in Tuticorin
