Indian Council Act of 1892 (jan 1, 1892 – dec 31, 1892)
Description:
- Numbers of non-officials in Central and Provincial legislative councils increased but majority of officials retained
- Principle of Representation --> enabling universities, district boars, municipalities, zamindars, trade bodies, and chamber of commerce to recommend members to the provincial council
- The concept of In-Direct elections was introduced for non-officials, although the term Elections was firmly avoided
- Members of legislators can put questions to the executives within certain limits by giving notice of 6 days
- Members of legislators can express their views on financial statements although can't vote for the same
