Stamp Act Congress (oct 1, 1765 – oct 31, 1765)
Description:
Nine colonies sent delegates to the Stamp Act Congress in New York. They condemned the Stamp Act and Sugar Act. I feel that the Sugar Act should be repealed and replaced with a less damaging solution, but I understand that England must pay a seemingly insurmountable debt. As a result, I accept both the Stamp Act and the right of Parliament to tax the colonies. Although these measures hurt my business, a full-scale rebellion would destabilize the economy much more.
