Pig war (jun 15, 1859 – oct 3, 1874)
Description:
The pig war started because an American farmer shot a British pig on an island that both nations claimed. This happened because of the lack of precision in the Oregon treaty. This conflict lasted 13 years, luckily no combat happened. But there was a standoff including as many as 3 warships, 84 guns and over 2,600 men. This standoff lasted until 1874 when most of the forces were withdrawn.Added by William, edited by Jacob
