The Latè Period (jan 1, 1712 – apr 22, 1727)

Description:

The Latè (Twin) Period was an economical, social, and politically influenced era dominated by the beliefs of both Emperor Javik and his sister, Empress Nongpã Notetstok. The period consolidated primarily of economic reforms and the return of a strong merchant class, more limits on the growing power of the noble class, restructuring of the Javician caste systems, and the focus of the Javician Slave Trade under Nongpa being in the Kiperlain Islands.

The period saw initially economic progress, but because of the Bouran-Javician War, depression hit hard and severally debilitated the empire. Nongpa was able to fix some of the problems and get out of the economic depression, but the underlying issues led to eventual imperial collapse.

The Latè Period is considered to be the final era of good times during the Empire as it saw economic stability (except for the war), the return of the merchant class, class tensions lessen (except for the end of Javik's reign), as well as the last time Javicia was seen as a strong global power. Though, after the death of Nongpa, Yerok took control and could not deal with the pressures of emperor and let it slip from his hands.
