Longhorn cavern state park construction (jan 1, 1934 – jan 1, 1942)
Description:
The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) constructed various structures and removed over 2.5 tons of bat poop, slit, and debris from the cavern. The CCC also built walkways and stairs making the cavern accessible to the public. The CCC was in place to give employment opportunity to men, during The Great Depression.
