Description:
The Anti- Federalist and Federalist party was created as the constitution was ratified. These groups were created due to previous opinions of the British monarchy. The Anti-Federalist wanted a weak central government that didn't want the national government to overpower states rights. These parties contributed to the civil war because citizens fought over the power of states' rights because they made important decisions like if slavery should be legal or not.Added to timeline:
