Mongol Empire (jan 1, 1206 – jan 1, 1368)
Description:
(1206-1368) The leader of the Mongols, Genghis Khan, united the Mongols to create the largest land empire in history. At it's peak, the empire stretched between 11 and 12 million square miles. Genghis Khan died in 1227 during an invasion against the Chinese kingdom of Xi Xia. The Mongols were very supportive of foreign trade, due to the fact that it provided many essential goods since they produced little of their own.
