Addressing Health Literacy in Primary Care (jan 1, 2005 – dec 31, 2006)
Description:
ACU conducted a study of primary care health facilities that serve underserved populations to assess health literacy practices or activities targeted at improving patient-clinician communication. Subsequently, ACU developed a training program to teach health clinic staff on how to incorporate best practices in health literacy, language access and cultural competency in caring for the underserved. It also results in the publication, “Health Literacy Practices in Primary Care Settings: Examples from the Field.”Added to timeline:
