Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka (jan 6, 1951 – may 17, 1954)

Description:

In this case, the Supreme Court overturned the policy of "separate but equal." This ruling had immense implications for the equal education of black students: it legally ended de jure segregation, lead to black and white children being able to attend the same schools, and ultimately paved the way for the fully integrated schools of today.
