Description:

The Constitution of the United States was written, adopted, and later amended (the Bill of Rights) in order to help govern the country.
The historical and current importance of these documents in relation to education includes the responsibility of school operation switching from the federal government to individual states and the creation of the principle "separation of church and state," which resulted in the detachment of education and religion both then and now.
