The War of 1812 (jun 18, 1812 – feb 18, 1815)
Description:
British invasions of New York, Baltimore, and New Orleans were repulsed by American troops, increasing national confidence and developing a new spirit of patriotism. The Treaty of Ghent was ratified on February 17, 1815, bringing the war to a close but leaving many of the most critical issues unsolved.
