Reign of Louis Philippe (aug 9, 1830 – feb 24, 1848)
Description:
Elected after the abdication of Charles X, Louis Philippe was a conservative monarch that promoted friendship with Britain and colonial expansion, especially into Algeria. With yet again in economic turmoil, Louis grew unpopular and was forced to abdicate the throne after the revolution of 1848. He lived out the rest of his life in exile in England.
