Young Turks come to power in Turkey (jul 1, 1908 – jul 31, 1908)
Description:
The Young Turks' rise to power in Turkey displays the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, as the sultan was losing power to rebels. It became known as "the old man of Europe" and was its power in the balance of power in Europe, as powers like Germany and Austria-Hungary were on the rise. It also displays an increase in Turkish nationalism, which led to the Armenian genocide as well.
